Commercial Lines Account Placement Manager

Leads, coaches, mentors, and manages Marketing & Placing underwriting and support staff. Collaborates with the RAIS Executive Management Leadership Team and Account Coordinators to achieve the company’s goals and objectives in the delivery of exceeds expectations value-added marketing and placing service to RAIS member agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Evaluates, analyzes, revises, and develops commercial lines processing systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the delivery of RAIS’ marketing and placement commitments to its agents

Insures required stated commercial lines marketing and placing standards are met including, but not limited to:
Submission to quote turnaround times
o Hit ratios
o Pricing strategies
o Process Quality
o Efficiencies

Mentors and coaches Carrier Representatives to effectively negotiate premiums to ensure quotations represent the best possible price for the most appropriate policy terms and conditions for every risk submitted

Monitors, measures, reviews, analyzes, and generates and presents to management appropriate reports documenting commercial lines marketing and placement Balanced Score Card performance results on a weekly basis. These include, but are not limited to:

o Production standards
o Efficiency and Process Quality standards
o Customer Satisfaction (internal and external) standards
o Process Quality

Develops, monitors, and administers employee recognition and incentive programs to foster and reward exceeds expectations performance and job position expertise at both individual employee and team levels.

Conducts and documents employee performance appraisals and salary reviews within required timeframes.

Develops, communicates, documents, and monitors mutually agreeable professional growth and development paths for all direct reports.

Provides coaching and mentoring to support employees in achieving growth and professional goals and objectives in support of RAIS corporate goals and objectives for the delivery of exceptional commercial lines technical and marketing expertise services and support to its agents.

Maintains effective backup schedules to ensure proper coverage for all service units.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following competencies. Agency Management system and related software (AMS 360 a plus). Ability to use carrier rating software and other related software. Must have solid prior knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), effective time management skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Should have a good understanding of insurance products and procedures with the ability to build strong agent and carrier relationships. Bachelor's Degree (B. A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university or 5 years or more of related experience and training. Agency management experience is helpful.
