Jay Cora
Vice President of Safety Services
Jay Cora is the Director of Safety Services with responsibility for identifying and managing the development of loss prevention and safety management services for the entire Renaissance Group client base.
Jay joined the Renaissance Group in 1995, bringing more than two decades of professional safety experience to his role. He began his career in 1978 as Loss Control Consultant for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. He was responsible for evaluating the safety programs of commercial lines accounts and developing corrective measures for deficiencies. He was also charged with performing accident analysis, identifying adverse loss trends, and developing and implementing employee training programs. Jay received training in evaluation of manual material handling exposures, repetitive motion disorders, and video display terminal exposures.
Beginning in 1985, Jay was associated with Frank B. Hall & Company of Massachusetts where he served as Assistant Vice President of the loss control department. His responsibilities included managing four loss control account managers, providing loss control consulting services to major clients, preparing loss control marketing specifications, and monitoring insurance carrier loss control services.
Jay joined the Travelers Insurance Company in 1991 as a Management Consultant in the firm's loss prevention and engineering department. There, he was actively involved in providing consulting services to clients in safety management and served as project manager on multi-location projects involving safety management.
Having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, Jay is a Certified Safety Professional. He also holds an associates degree in Loss Control Management from the Insurance Institute of America, and is a member of the Boston Chapter of the American Society of Safety engineers.
