It seems like the summer only just began, but with August, we are moving into back-to-school and back-to-business. Think about communicating to your insureds about back-to-school safety and insurance matters for kids departing to college. Here's a handy back-to-school checklist from the National Safety Council – good info to post on social media, or download it to send to your clients.
August is Black Business Month, a good time to promote, support and reach out to your black business insureds.
But the month isn't all about serious matters – the are plenty of fun seasonal activities, from barbecues to ball games. Early in the month we celebrate Farmer's Market week, so support local farms and remind your clients to buy fresh and buy local. National Lighthouse Day is a great excuse for a road trip! Plus, there are fun national events, too, like International Beer Day and Elvis Week.
It's hurricane season through November 30. Plus, the dog days of summer can still produce heat waves, strong summer storms and other weather emergencies. Talk to clients about lightning safety and flash flooding.
We close the month with Labor Day so we also offer some links for planning activates in advance. We offer a few links and suggestions for August social media communications to get you started.
