We are so proud to share the news that Bruce Cochrane, founder and President of Renaissance Alliance Insurance Services (RAIS), has been named the 2018 Insurance Professional of the Year by the Insurance Library Association of Boston. While we may be a little biased on his behalf, we think it is so well deserved! All of us at Renaissance Alliance recognize the lifelong leadership and achievements that Bruce has demonstrated over his four decades of service and innovation in our industry. And as colleagues, we’ve been inspired by his vision, his expertise and his integrity. Plus, he’s great to work with: generous, kind and fun. In his typical fashion, Bruce assigns credit to ” … our incredible RAIS agency members and the outstanding RAIS people I work with every day.”
Of the award, the Insurance Library Association of Boston says that, “ … it is presented each year to a person who demonstrates leadership and exemplifies those qualities that engender understanding of and respect for the insurance industry.” The qualities they describe can be seen in Bruce’s years of service: He is past President of the Boston Board of Fire Underwriters and past President of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, having served on its board for 12 years. He served on the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation Fraud Bureau for 10 years, the Massachusetts Workers Compensation Advisory Council for 14 years, and the Governing Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts for 28 years, including five terms as Chairman. He’s also had incredible achievements as a business founder, owner and leader.
